The Radio Club of America has invited members and non-members to participate in its spring QSO party on May 5, 2007. Log sheets can be downloaded in Excel and Word versions. Completed logs should be submitted to Mike Raide, W2ZE, at email@example.com or to Bob Raide, W2ZM, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Email Bob for more information. If you’re an RCA member, identify your station with “RCA member.” Listen for the Club station, W2RCA, which may be active during the party.
Bill Wickline, sometimes known as “Wick,” died on Feb. 23, 2007. He was 80. Bill joined RCA in 1976 and became a Fellow in 1985. He let his membership expire a few years ago, so I don’t know whether RCA will record his passing, but I want to. Not that RCA wouldn’t want to, but I’m not sure the Club has a consistent way to offer such information about former members. (more…)

Sixty members and guests attended RCA’s Spring Gathering aboard the RMS Queen Mary, a passenger ship permanently moored in Long Beach, California. The banquet was held in cooperation with the 2007 APCO Western Regional Conference & Exposition, sponsored by the 13 chapters of the APCO Western States Region. The conference was hosted by APCO’s Southern California Chapter, the California Public-Safety Radio Association. (more…)
RCA replaced its management contractor, Meredith & Hopkins (M&H), Eatontown, N.J., with Marketing Connection, Littleton, Colo., on March 1, 2007. The job of RCA executive secretary has passed from the owner of M&H, Gerri Hopkins, to Marketing Connectionss owner, Karen Clark. (more…)
