An estimated 250 members and guests are anticipated to attend the 2007 RCA awards banquet, which has been conducted annually at the New York Athletic Club for the past 25 years or more. RCA conducted its first banquet in 1919.
Andy Rooney from the CBS News program “60 Minutes” is set to deliver the keynote speech. His colleague, Walter Cronkite, KB2GSD; and John S. Belrose, Ph.D., VE2CV, both will be presented with RCA’s Armstrong Medal. Details regarding ticket availability and other award recipients are pending.
The banquet, which begins at 7 p.m., is preceded by a reception at 5 p.m., and by a technical symposium earlier in the afternoon. Tickets are required for the reception and banquet. RCA offers the technical symposium without charge, although reservations are requested.
The 2006 banquet featured a keynote speech by Karim Khoja, CEO of Roshan, one of the cellular carriers in Afghanistan, and a special address by Sean Maloney, executive vice president of Intel.
